Biography

Why did you choose WIH/Brown OB/GYN?

I chose WIH/Brown OB/GYN because the residents seemed genuinely happy. I wanted to train at a place where I'd get great training and truly enjoy working with my co-residents. My co-residents are some of the most brilliant people that I've ever encountered and I love learning alongside them and also from them. I was looking for a program with a  demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, excellent mentorship opportunities and friendly residents. Brown OB/GYN has provided me with all of that and more!

What are your interests within OB/GYN?

I have several interests within OB/GYN. One of my interests is in the field of REI. I was able to do a three month continuity clinic in medical school and fell in love with the field. I found great fulfillment in counseling patients/couples during some of their most vulnerable moments and offering options to help them start a family. I also have an interest in health disparities. I am particularly interested in adolescent sex education and access to gynecologic care in minority communities and their relationship to tubal factor infertility in these populations.

What is your favorite thing to do in Providence and/or Rhode Island?

I have a few favorite things that I like to do in Providence. My favorite thing is probably walking the East Bay Bike Path. The view of the water while walking  and listening to music is relaxing. I regularly walk half of the path which is about 8 miles. I haven't tried running yet; I'm taking baby steps in the fitness world.

Where do you live?

I live on the East Side of Providence. I really wanted an apartment that was a short commute from the hospital and also had some outdoor space. I'm walking distance from a Whole Foods, drug stores, and all of the great restaurants on Thayer Street.

One fun fact about you?

I collect candles which may not seem interesting but my apartment always smells amazing :)

One piece of advice for candidates?
