Education

Simulation plays a big role in our curriculum with dedicated simulation days throughout the year.

The core curriculum for our residency is in a two-year rotating schedule of interactive, CREOG objective based didactics. We utilize a flipped classroom style, engaging our residents to read in advance of lecture to better engage with the content. In addition to traditional CREOG objective based content, our protected didactic time also focuses on:

  • Reproductive Justice and Advocacy
  • Ethics
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
  • Wellness
  • Quality Improvement
  • Research curriculum/Journal club

As one of our central missions is to help train the future generations of educators in our field, a focus on residents as teachers is essential, and included as a part of our protected didactic curriculum. In addition, we strive to support a healthy and positive learning environment in line with our undergraduate medical education programs:

We are proud to have MANY of our residents featured as Positive Champions of the Learning Environment through the Alpert Medical School, and look forward to all of our trainees’ great contributions to education!

In addition, simulation plays a big role in our curriculum with dedicated  simulation days throughout the year. Simulation is utilized for procedural skills, but also for Residents as Teachers, Empathy training, Transgender health, and Palliative care.
