OB/GYN Residency Program

Biography

Why did you choose WIH/Brown OB/GYN?

I had the opportunity to complete an away rotation at Brown, and I quickly saw why the program is such a special place. I fell in love with the patient population, the culture of advocacy among faculty and residents, and the welcoming environment. I especially appreciated the integration with the midwifery service, the strong commitment to reproductive justice, and the opportunity to train at a hospital dedicated entirely to OB/GYN care. Living in Rhode Island during my rotation also made it easy to picture myself growing there both personally and professionally.

What is your favorite thing to do in Providence and/or Rhode Island?

I love trying all the delicious restaurants and dessert spots (especially Tricycle Ice Cream), walking through downtown Providence, and taking trips to the beach.

Where do you live?

Federal Hill

Fun fact:

I am a twin!

One piece of advice for candidates:

Be sure to stay true to your values when choosing your future residency program. Everyone prioritizes different aspects of training, whether that be location, proximity to support systems, advocacy, program culture, or prestige, and valuing different things is completely normal. It can be easy to get caught up in what other people prioritize, but try to focus on what you need from the next four years of training. Doing so will help you find the program that truly feels like home!
