Biography

Why did you choose WIH/Brown OB/GYN?

I was drawn to Brown for many reasons—the integration of midwifery care into training, the opportunity to care for patients across settings in a dedicated women’s hospital, and the strong emphasis on advocacy (with the State House just around the corner!). Most of all, I was struck by the welcoming, fun vibe of the residents on interview day. It was clear that this is an incredibly tight-knit community, both inside and outside the hospital.

What are your interests within OB/GYN?

Abortion advocacy, health policy/cost-effectiveness research, postpartum care, infertility, REI, MFM.

What is your favorite thing to do in Providence and/or Rhode Island?

I love having picnics at India Point Park and exploring all the incredible restaurants (and ice cream shops!) in the area—Providence has an amazing food scene. Close proximity to beautiful beaches is an added bonus!

Where do you live?

Mount Hope -- it's full of tree-lined streets and just a short walk from one of my favorite bakeries, Seven Stars!

One fun fact about you:

I recently took up gardening and am excited for my calendula and tomatoes to grow!

One piece of advice for candidates:

After each interview, take time to talk about your experience with someone you know and trust. When it comes time to choose a program, it can be incredibly helpful to have them reflect back how excited, or uncertain, you seemed after each one. And don’t hesitate to reach out to current residents! They’re often wonderful resources and can share insights you might not get during the interview day.
