Biography

Why did you choose WIH/Brown OB/GYN?

WIH truly gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling on interview day! The way in which the folks in this program support and care for one another was so evident to me (even through zoom!) and was exactly what I was looking for in a program. It was clear to me from the beginning that WIH would train me exceptionally well for wherever my career path may lead, and I found the patient-centeredness, interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for advocacy in this program to be uniquely impressive. Furthermore, I am passionate about all aspects of comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including the opportunity to provide abortion care. I feel very fortunate to have matched at a program that aligns with those values and is committed to reproductive justice.

What are your interests within OB/GYN?

General OB/GYN, advocacy, reproductive health education for adolescents, medical education, sexual health, family planning, & more - It's hard to find an area of OB/GYN that doesn't get me excited!

What is your favorite thing to do in Providence and/or Rhode Island?

I grew up in Rhode Island, and I'm so happy to be back! It's been so awesome to be closer to family & friends, and to be able to enjoy all of my favorite things about the Ocean State. I love the outdoors, and some of my favorite trails for hiking, running, and biking are along the RI coastline. Since arriving to Providence for residency and moving into my new apartment, I've enjoyed exploring the many restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops in the city with my new co-resident pals, and I can't wait for 4 years of adventure together!

Where do you live?

Mount Hope on the East Side of Providence!

One fun fact about you:

I am not only a native Rhode Islander, but also an IVF baby brought into the world with the help of the REI doctors at Women & Infants!

One piece of advice for candidates:

Don't go through this crazy process alone! Lean on friends, family, mentors, etc for support - find someone that will talk things out with you, helping you figure out what YOU really value in a program.
