Dayna Burrell, MD
Biography
Dr. Burrell is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and is a member of the division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology at Women & Infants Hospital. Dr. Burrell completed medical school at the University of Virginia, and her residency training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She remained at Johns Hopkins as a General Ob/Gyn faculty member for 8 years. During that time, she served as an Associate Program Director and helped to build a simulation curriculum for resident education. Dr. Burrell joined the faculty at Women & Infants Hospital in 2016 and served as Residency Program Director from 2018-2025. She became Vice Chair for Education for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2024. In 2025-26 Dr. Burrell is acting as an Associate Program Director as well to ensure a smooth transition to Dr. Barlow as Program Director. Nationally, she is a graduate of the APGO Scholars and Leaders Program and currently serves on the CREOG Education Committee.
